This online expressive arts therapy workshop was facilitated for the Iranian community in January 2026, responding to ongoing collective trauma and emotional stress. Participants were invited to explore and express their feelings through visual art, words, movement, and sound in a supportive and non-judgmental space.

Group Therapy & Expressive Arts Workshops

I facilitate therapeutic group sessions and expressive arts workshops that create supportive, creative, and non-judgmental spaces for connection, expression, and healing.

Group work offers something unique: the experience of being seen and witnessed by others while engaging in creative processes that go beyond words. My groups are designed to support emotional expression, nervous system regulation, and a sense of belonging—while always honoring individual choice and boundaries.

No prior art experience is needed.

What to Expect in Group Work

My group sessions and workshops integrate expressive arts modalities such as movement, visual art, rhythm, sound, storytelling, and reflection. Participants are invited to engage in ways that feel right for them—actively, gently, or by witnessing.

In these spaces, we value:

  • Safety and respect

  • Choice and consent

  • A non-judgmental atmosphere

  • Listening with care—to ourselves and to one another

Each group is guided with a trauma-informed and relational approach, allowing participants to move at their own pace.

Creative Cancer Support Group

Four-Session Online Expressive Arts Therapy Group | Parents | Online

Creative Cancer Support Group was a four-session online expressive arts therapy group designed and facilitated by Setareh Delzendeh and Philomena Meffe for parents of children living with cancer. The group offered a safe and supportive space for parents navigating their child’s treatment, recovery, and the long-term emotional impact of illness on family life.

The sessions recognized that when a child is sick, the entire household is affected. Parents were invited to explore emotional fatigue, fear, grief, and ongoing parenting challenges, while caring for their own emotional well-being, which plays a vital role in supporting their child’s growth and healing. The group also created opportunities for connection and shared understanding among parents walking similar journeys.
